Krista Ashley Photography » Elopements & Intimate Weddings

The stars couldn’t have aligned more perfectly for this day and the fact that I was included made me the happiest gal ever.

Sweet bride Krista has kept up on my work since the Tumblr days, back when I first started photography. I will always get pink in the face when someone says, “I fell in love with your photos ages ago and since then I have always wanted you to shoot my wedding.” So when I read those words in Krista’s email, I had chills and the sappiest grin on my face. Honored doesn’t even describe how I felt.

Flash forward to their beautiful elopement style wedding, and I was head over heals! Krista & Dayton had a stunning and simple ceremony at Point Dume in Malibu, where they were surrounded by their families and best friends. Then we made our way to El Matador Beach where we adventured around for sunset. And let me tell you, this sunset gave us THE most beautiful colors! I may or may not have geeked out completely.

Krista & Dayton have such a sweet love, and I’m beyond the stars thankful to have been there to document it all.

Millwick is basically a candy shop for photographers, and Liz & Jonathan are literal perfection. Which makes this one of my favorite weddings of the season.

With a small count of their closest friends and family, this love affair was intimate and equally rad. No exaggeration, this was the most laid-back wedding that I’ve had the privilege to witness. They had the movie Labyrinth playing in the background of their reception, and that’s when I tipped my hat. Yep, these are my people. Fiesta dinner, perfect music, the best of company, lights under the stars. It doesn’t get much better than that.

If I could, I would photograph this beautiful day again and again. I’m going to revel in this one for a while.

It honestly could not have been a more beautiful day for Kacy & James’s wedding. The location, the light, the love. Perfection.

Under the prettiest blue sky, Kacy & James celebrated their love at Lekai Ranch in Paso Robles with their closest friends and family. An intimate ceremony follow by an evening beneath the stars. Pops of Fall colors brought the perfect touch to this October wedding. It’s safe to say that I was obsessed with every little detail. Proof within the photos, which I couldn’t narrow down enough for this post!

Chasing light with these two will be some of my best memories for a long time coming. I’m beyond thankful to witness their love and to document their story.

Gems. That’s what Stephanie & AJ are.

I can’t begin to tell you how much fun we had running through the mountains, dodging bushes and getting our shoes dirty. When you do all of that and more, you get some pretty rad photos. Not to mention, these two are melt worthy and had me reeling during their entire session.

I’ll be waiting not-so patiently for their epic wedding at Smoky Hollow Studios in the Summer! Until then, these photos will definitely hold me over. Obsessed is an understatement.

When a full circle comes around, it’s an amazing thing.

Baby Kai was in his mama’s belly when I photographed their elopement in Palm Springs. My heart completely melted when I met him for the first time for this session. This was also the first time that Kai saw the beach in all it’s glory. He was amazed by his surroundings, with wide eyes and curious brows that I couldn’t get enough of! Everything about him is the sweetest. Ronit + Sean quietly sang to Kai during the session, which made me melt even more. There’s so much love in these photos.

I’ll never stop saying how much I love what I do, for this exact reason. It’s such an honor to be a part of these incredibly special memories. To not only document them, but to witness these moments. So, so, so full of appreciation. Especially for this sweet family.
